FlyFishNM Welcomes You
Providing NM Youth With Fly Fishing Opportunities
FlyFishNM at a Glance
At Fly Fish NM we know that the future of our great State lies with our youth. Fly Fish NM is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit charity created to provide Fly Fishing opportunities for NM youth who would otherwise not be able to participate in this unique and exciting fishing experience due to economic inability, or limited access to the outdoors.
Our goal is to teach our youth the importance of preserving the environment and our limited natural resources, the basics of fly fishing, how to identify fish species, the importance of conserving fish habitats, and how to identify insects and aquatic bugs that make up a fish's diet.
Preserving New Mexico's beautiful streams and lakes for future generations is necessary. We wish to instill an attitude of respect for the natural beauty of our State and its limited resources. Each participant will earn a free fly rod kit. In order to be true to our mission of preserving the fishing habitat, each participant is required to spend a few minutes in habitat clean up. Once they turn in their trash bag, they sign in and a complete fly rod kit is handed to them. It is theirs to keep and Instruction takes place thereafter.
Conservation and Preservation begins by exposing New Mexico's youth to the natural beauty of New Mexico's rivers, streams and lakes, and developing the attitude of preserving that beauty.

Big Brothers Big Sisters
Tingley Beach
On April 13, 2024 Fly Fish NM partnered up with Central New Mexico Big Brothers and Big Sisters at Tingley Beach in Albuquerque. Many youth participated in this Fly Fishing camp. The "Bigs" and "Littles" enjoyed a beautiful day and had lots of fun trying out their new Fly Fishing skills. BBBS (Central NM) is always prepared and we thank you for another successful day. Thank you Miriam, we look forward to more fishing camps with you in the future.

Mora County Youth Creative Counsel
May 18, 2024 & June 8, 202 were beautiful days at Morphy Lake State Park in Northern New Mexico. These large groups of youth and their families from Mora and surrounding Counties, enjoyed perfectly sunny cool days at this alpine level lake. Once the Participants went to the water to fish, one young man caught his first fish on a fly rod within seconds. Thanks to Ruthann for your organization.
